KALEY PRUITT

Kaley Pruitt is a freelance contemporary dance choreographer and Assistant Professor of Dance at SUNY Brockport. Pruitt studied Pilates Mat and Reformer beginning as a teenager and continued that study throughout her dance training and career. She completed Evolution Pilates Mat and Reformer training in 2023 and became certified in Reformer in 2024. She is passionate about utilizing Pilates for dancers and the general public to promote movement efficiency, decrease pain, and prevent and recover from injury.
She founded her dance company, Kaley Pruitt Dance, in 2014 in New York City and has created over 35 works. She holds her MFA in Dance & Choreography from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and her BFA in Dance from Florida State University. Pruitt has received the Community Arts Grant through Genesee Valley Council on the Arts to implement “Collaborating in Community”, an empathy & community building workshop/performance series in Henrietta Public Library in 2026. Her recent choreographic commissions include: Steffi Nossen Dance Company, Idaho Dance Theatre, Society for New Music, Repertory Dance Theatre, Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company, Fem Dance Company, Simantikos Dance Chicago, Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and Illinois State University. The company has been presented by: New York State DanceForce, National Dance Education Organization, Rochester Fringe Festival, St Louis Contemporary Dance Festival/ Resilience Dance, Take Root at Green Space, MADCO Dare to Dance, Austin Dance Festival, ACDA Nationals, Mark DeGarmo Dance, Milwaukee Fringe Festival, WIM Dance Festival, UW Milwaukee, Dixon Place Theater, Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, Triskelion Arts, Chez Bushwick, Center for Performance Research, Built on Stilts Martha’s Vineyard, Secret Theater, Ketchum Arts Commission, and Movement Research.
