Jessica Tretter is a professional ballet dancer who has danced with Houston Ballet, Ballet San Antonio, BalletNext, and currently performs with the Rochester City Ballet. A native of Rochester, Jessica grew up studying ballet under Timothy Draper and Jamey Leverett, in addition to studying at the School of American Ballet and American Ballet Theater during the summer months. In addition to dancing professionally, Jessica has been teaching ballet at the Draper Center for Dance Education since 2009, and is also certified in the Progressing Ballet Technique program. From the young age of 14, Jessica has been practicing Pilates to combat growth spurts, build strength, overcome injuries, prevent injuries, and to maintain her physical health. She supplemented her training with reformer work, had group mat classes in her schedule during her summers away, and worked personally with Pilates instructors during her professional career. It seemed a natural leap to become a Pilates instructor, so Jessica completed her Balanced Body training on all apparatus. She is eager and excited to share her knew knowledge from certification, along with years of experience, with everyone she can! She wants to make Pilates feel approachable and accessible for all, and to share her enjoyment of breathing and building strength, and then to connect that with ease of movement.
