The Reformer is the most popular and adaptable piece of Pilates equipment, and facilitates an astonishing range of strengthening and stretching exercises. It has a carriage that glides on rails, in response to the use of attached springs, pulleys and ropes. Your instructor may ask you to sit, stand, kneel, or lie on the carriage bed to work different muscle groups in a variety of relationships to the spring resistance. Whether you are recovering from an injury, or are a peak performance athlete, your instructor can adjust the Reformer to fit your needs.
