Michelle Pritchard, Owner
Michelle Pritchard has worked in the fitness industry for over fifteen years as a Pilates instructor, personal trainer, yoga instructor, teacher trainer, lecturer, and adjunct professor of dance. Michelle danced professionally in New York City and Los Angeles for ten years before returning to her hometown, Rochester NY, in 2007. She holds an MFA in Dance from California State University, Long Beach and has taught Pilates and dance classes and workshops at SUNY Brockport, the University of Rochester, Loyola Marymount University, Orange Coast College, St. John Fisher College, the Nazareth Academy, the Harro East Athletic Club, the Country Club of Rochester, and the Rochester City Ballet among others. Michelle is currently an adjunct professor in the dance department at Nazareth College where she teaches Pilates and somatics.
Michelle is certified to teach Pilates by the Kane School of Core Integration in New York City and by Body Arts Science International in Costa Mesa, California. In California, Michelle studied Pilates with Karen Clippinger and earned a specialized Pilates certification for dance conditioning and with Master teacher, Rael Isacowitz in his mentor teacher training.

Sondra Affolter, Certified Physical Therapist
Sondra has been practicing as a physical therapist for almost 20 years. She earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1995 from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Sondra began her professional career in rehabilitation working with patients that had sustained a stroke or brain injury. She was part of a multi-disciplinary team that worked towards reintegrating these patients into the community. While working for the rehabilitation hospital she was introduced to myofascial release. Finding that the majority of patients recieved such benefit from it she pursued additional coursework in manual skills, including Cranial Sacral Therapy from the Upledger Institute and Orthopaedic classes from the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy. Since 1998, Sondra has continued her work in an out patient setting, treating people with orthopaedic issues.
Sondra and her husband moved to Honeoye, NY in March 2009 to be closer to family as both have roots in New York State. Sondra's parents retired to Honeoye and her in-laws are in Syracuse. In her free time Sondra trains and competes in dog agility. Sondra is certified with Polestar, a leader in the industry specializing in Pilates training for physical therapists. She is also certified by the Pilates Method Alliance, a professional association and certifying agency for Pilates teachers that is recognized worldwide.
Cathy Chambers, Senior Instructor
Cathy Chambers has been living in Pittsford for 23 years where she and her husband have raised four children and started a Rochester based company. She graduated with a teaching degree from Fairfield University and is certified in K-6. While raising her children she was very involved with the Pittsford School District, tutoring in the city and volunteering at her church. In addition to teaching she has a passion for cooking, gardening and both of her book clubs. Cathy was an athlete growing up and continued to incorporate exercise as an every day part of her life. After years spent running and attending various exercise classes she found her way to Evolution Pilates and hasn't left! Cathy is extremely excited to apply her teaching background to an exercise format that has meant so much to her. She finished her certification with Michelle Pritchard at Evolution Pilates in July 2012. In their free time, Cathy and her husband enjoy visiting their older children in Denver, New York and Massachusetts, boating on Canandaigua Lake and walking the golf course with their fourth child, an avid high school golfer.
Janet Mirsky, Senior Instructor
Janet is a native to Rochester, NY. While growing up in a very athletic family with three brothers, various sports and fitness activities were paramount in her life. She currently plays tennis, paddle tennis, skis, hikes, does yoga and Pilates throughout the year.
After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Hotel and Food Management, Janet spent over ten years working in the industry, including Marriott, Hyatt and Wegmans. Janet continued to explore her creativity and started painting, working in mostly abstract mixed media on canvas, showing her pieces at many local festivals.
When Janet started practicing Pilates she immediately fell in love. She inquired about teacher training at her studio, with Michelle Pritchard at Evolution Pilates, and in July 2012 was certified. The entire learning process was invigorating for her, as Janet's style of teaching is to use her creativity to discover new exercise challenges for her clients.
In 2017, Janet continued on her journey of creative personal growth by becoming NY State and Nationally Board Certified as a Licensed Massage Therapist. This fulfilled her life long dream of helping people heal. It also offers a different perspective on helping her clients movement and success in practicing Pilates.
Janet has family all over the country, with a daughter in Southern California working in advertising and a son at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst studying sports management.
Jacquie Szachara, Senior Instructor
Jacquie became a Pilates teacher in 2012 when she graduated from the Advanced Training program at The Pilates Center in Boulder, CO. It was there that she was able to train with Rachel and Amy Taylor as well as Deborah Kolwey and Leah Wecksler who were all taught by an original elder of Joseph Pilates. She then continued her education with Cara Reeser in Denver, CO. a friend and apprentice of Kathy Grant. Jacquie also holds a certification through the Pilates Method Alliance (a professional organization and certifying agency for Pilates teachers) Prior to Pilates, Jacquie worked in the Computer industry as a Software Engineer and Project Manager.
Jacquie started her Pilates journey because she couldn’t bike, run or play tennis without low back and knee pain. Pilates gave her the movement patterns to allow her to do those activities pain free, along with increasing her strength, flexibility, and balance. Providing a renewed sense of vitality. Jacquie is committed to helping others feel good about their bodies and get a new sense of freedom through movement!
Jacquie lives in Pittsford with her husband and her 2 high school children. They have another child that is close by in his 2nd year at Syracuse University. In her spare time, you may see Jacquie on her bike riding through many of our beautiful farm roads, hiking with her dog Bella or playing tennis and paddle. Jacquie joined Evolution Pilates in 2016.
Kelsey White, Full Instructor
Originally from Rochester, Kelsey attended Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University graduating with a double major in Ballet and Mathematics. Kelsey performed two seasons as a dancer with the Rochester City Ballet. Kelsey enjoy's spending free time hiking with friends and family. One of her recent accomplishments is hiking Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs, Colorado! She has a goal of hiking all 46 peaks in the Adirondacks! She believes in the power of movement and body awareness to improve ones quality of life and looks forward to not only learning more about Pilates, but also being able to share it with others. Kelsey received her Pilates certification from Michelle Pritchard at Evolution Pilates in 2016.
Beth Rodbell, Full Instructor
Beth is from Sandy Hook, CT and attended Indiana University's Jacob's School of Music where she received a degree in Ballet and Political Science. A professional dancer, Beth is in her fifth season with the Rochester City Ballet. Some of her favorite things are family, music, fashion, the beach, Pilates, sunshine, traveling, her German Shepard Ruby, champagne, and pizza! Beth received her Pilates certification from Michelle Pritchard at Evolution Pilates in 2016.
Tesia Woodworth, Full Instructor
Tesia (pronounced “tee-sa”) has worked in the fitness and wellness industry for over 20 years. Native to beautiful Canandaigua, NY, “Tee” began her professional work in the corporate wellness setting at Johnson & Johnson HealthCare Systems in Rochester in 1999. She holds a Master’s in Public Health with a BA in Health and Exercise Science from SUNY College at Brockport. Tee has always been passionate about helping others tap into their health and vitality. A lifelong yoga practitioner, in 2015 she gained her Yoga Instructor Certification (RYT 200) and in 2016 she certified as a Pilates Instructor under Michelle Pritchard at Evolution Pilates. When Tee is not in the studio you can find her enjoying the great outdoors on a stand-up paddleboard, hiking, snowboarding or meditating by a waterfall. Her two most fave Joe Pilates quotes;

Maureen Gorman, Full Instructor
Maureen was first introduced to Pilates while completing her BA in Dance at the University of New Mexico. Immersed in the practices of Modern dance, she was intrigued by the Pilates method because of its great emphasis on functional body awareness. She decided to deepen her understanding and completed the teacher training program at Pilates Plus in Rochester, NY. As a Pilates teacher, Maureen enjoys helping her clients build strength and better postural alignment. She feels fulfilled when clients are relieved of pain from physical imbalances and past injuries. She strives to heal as many clients as possible so they may feel revitalized and in control of their lives again. In addition to teaching Pilates, she is an avid performer and is currently an MFA candidate at SUNY Brockport for dance. She intends to continue learning different forms of physical practices to broaden her knowledge of the body’s capacity for movement. She is overwhelmed with joy by the opportunity to teach with such talented human beings at Evolution Pilates.
